Stephen Bruni
After completing a Bachelor of Arts in political science and sociology at the University of Toronto, Stephen attended law school to pursue his lifelong passion for the law and criminal advocacy. Stephen graduated with a dual Juris Doctor from both University of Windsor and Detroit Mercy. During his time at law school, Stephen was top of his class in the criminal trial clinic.
Stephen has previous experience working for the Washtenaw Public Defender's Office in Ann Arbor, Michigan and a Criminal Legal Aid Clinic in Detroit, Michigan. Stephen also has experience with the law office of Patricia Brown where he completed his articles and subsequently worked as a junior associate in both Windsor and Chatham offices.
Stephen has attended to matter in courts across Southern Ontario. His primary areas of work include Criminal Defence, Provincial Offences (Highway Traffic Act) and Mental Health Law. He has appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Review Board. Stephen also has experience with Gladue principles and their application to Indigenous offenders.
